A spacecraft carrying three Chinese astronauts blasted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China’s Gansu Province on June 5, sending the crew on a 6-month mission to complete construction on the country’s Tiangong space station. Footage released by the China Manned Space Agency shows the Shenzhou-14 spacecraft being launched by a Long March-2F rocket from the Gobi Desert in northwest China. According to CCTV, the astronaut trio’s mission entails assisting the ground team with completing the space station’s assembly, transforming it from a single-module structure to a national space laboratory with three modules.
