The Regional Development Policy Division was honoured to have been selected by the Regional Studies Association (RSA) to receive the Institutional Ambassador Award 2015 on 18 November. The award is in recognition of the high calibre of reports and measurement tools produced by the Regional Development Policy Committee and its supporting Working Parties.
The Institutional Award is made annually by the Association to an organisation in recognition of sustained excellence in the field of regional studies. In making the award to an institution, the Association considers factors such as the organisation’s contribution to: research (including research training); publications; programme development and delivery; knowledge transfer; contribution to public debates; and the organisation’s broader contribution to the field of regional studies, in line with the aims and objectives of the Association.
“This year that award goes to an organisation to whom many around the world, whether academic or policy based, turn for high quality benchmarking reports and analysis. This organisation works with data donors to improve data supply and reliability. It works independently bringing together perspectives on international urban and regional development. It delivers robust, up to date comparative work using data and analysis that most researchers would be comfortable with and understand. They are generous in their provision of speakers and analysts to attend the events of others, and are recognised authorities in our field. They are shaping the world for our collective better understanding.
The Regional Studies Association Institutional Ambassador Award goes to the OECD Regional Team.”
